The newest member of the Tecso band is the director of the local music school. He plays the small Ukrainian/Hutsul tsymbaly here, but is also accomplished on the large concert cimbalom, which shows in the way he plays the small tsymbaly using more developed techniques. The late Misha Chernovec of the Tecso band used to play tsymbaly in a more conservative style - strictly following the melody and playing more simple rythym patterns for backup, but nevertheless, this guy has chps to spare and I like his playing anyway. A slow Hutsul table songs played as a solo. The camera work is rather shakey at the beginning, becauise the fiddler (who was on a mid-set break) was hitting me up for a cigarette while I was trying to film this.
Good video indeed. but the reason why the camera was shaky made me laugh uncontrollably: "because the fiddler (who was on a mid-set break) was hitting me up for a cigarette..." Classic.
