"Who made the channel the professional and effective operation it was"? "It was our mission to bring you the fastest breaking news and the most comprehensive analysis"? "We hope you think that we succeeded"? The BBC say similar things about their news coverage, but it's a load of shit. The BBC has a 24hr news channel, a 24hr political channel and countless hours worth of news and current-affairs programmes on BBC1 and BBC2 each week - yet they still ignore so many issues and stories.

ITN Channel 4 is very good but as for anything ITV related, which was once a cool channel especially LWT, it now seems to be littered with trash TV, Police camera action, some football, trash factor, you gotta miss the old sitcoms, Man about the house,and docs like Weekend World, Mind your Language to name a few...the channel basically lost its chemistry

I remember watching this. Looking back, the 2004 graphics look so great, but at the time I always thought that the current 'itv' branding had been changed so much that they needed a brand new one. Looking back, I guess I was mistaken. I always thought that the music from when it was the ITN News Channel was the best - with all the arrows flying over the place paired with dramatic music. Ah, the days of On Digital.

I actually prefered this over BBC News 24, I thought it was the only decent news channel on Freeview. Now I just watch Sky News
