I have a question. My concrete back patio is about 6" above the ground. I want to extend my patio out another 15' with bricks. Since my existing patio is already 6" high, do I still dig out a foundation and that would put my patio about a foot above my hole if I went flush went the bricks to the existing concrete patio? Would you just dig out a 6" hole and have the bricks flush with the ground and have a 6" drop off from the existing patio and the new patio?

Darn! I just got 10 pallets of pavers /retaining wall bricks from unilock. I used to live in the Ohio area near the Cleveland but I moved to Ann Arbor. Very nice job!

@redbutterflyz Thank you! To find a reputable contractor go to the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute website and search for someone in your area. Pirc Company has employees certified to install both interlocking concrete pavers and retaining walls.

Nice job! Typically, how much would it cost to do a job that size (9'x11') if I were to hire a professional?

@vernrup The cost of a patio has many variables. Depending on the type of paver and excavation of land, it can range anywhere from $13-$20 a square foot. Other variables include access to the site and drainage requirements. We would be happy to come out and look at any site so we could give a free quote.

Now that's professional. What was the total time spent to finish this 9X11 patio? And please don't say 3 min. and 17 sec. lol.
