@pepsicola212 Nevermind and in Utero were two completly different directions. Kurt even admitted that himself. I mean yea, when I say "clean" I dont mean the guitars but more of a "radio friendly" sound. Songs on In Utero like Scentless Apprentice and Tourettes would never get radio play like say, Drain You or On a Plain which are much more poppy and upbeat.

In Utero was darker, heavier and less commercial. Nevermind had poppy hooks sing along choruses, and was more "clean" compared to In Utero. Both were great albums and real fans would appreciate both.
