"Gakusei desu" XD can I ask why you chose to use "I'm a student" in this? SIDE NOTE:some of my friends got confused by "desu" so just in case other got confused by it "desu" means "is,am,or are" roughly. Plus there are other forms "Deshita" means "was" "Deshoo" is

"is probably" and "datta deshoo" is "was probably" those are all the possitives for people who got confused ^_^ sorry Deas thought it was a good idea to explain that

I just used "gakusei" cause it's a fairly common noun? And I didn't go through to explain the copula, because in order to shorten it you already need to understand what it is and how it works grammatically.... ;-)
