The Kona Scholars team find several hammerhead sharks displaying abnormal behavior. They snorkel closer to get a better look and find one of the sharks is hooked and is dragging a fishing line. One of our leaders manages to break the line, but the shark leaves with the hook still lodged in its mouth.

  • One of our Kona Scholars shot the majority of this film! This was a first attempt for this 17 year old prodigy. She later commented that to successfully capture footage takes sacrifice. She could not join the others in the water with the shark, Instead she stayed aboard the boat to record the action. Thanks for your supportive comment!

  • that's so sad... what is wrong with people that do this to sharks. Great job letting them free. I hope they are all okay.
