  • Just for the record - the gearbox was stuffed when I did this video - with a new box it shifts much nicer now

  • Im a new rider just got a 07 black one, still getting used to the power vs my 01 automatic camry. Im still in my break in period and im hearing LOTS of clutch chatter at low speeds is this normal?

  • Sorry mate, I have no idea! Ask your dealer, I'm sure they'd be happy to help. Mine's old and worn out :)

  • is the zzr a good starter bike or not??

  • I started on it, and it took some getting used to - top heavy at slow speeds and very powerful compared to a car...

  • @cjnielsen1447 Why was the gearbox stuffed?

  • @jtmarsh1982 Kawasakis are renowned for it. Pull in the lever and the chatter will lessen. Nothing to worry about.

  • OMG fail shifting.... Delete this video....

  • hi.. 56yo 102kg guy.. 2 wks back bought a 97 ZZR600 with 98,000km. thought i'd rebuild it.. doesnt need rebuilding. 60mpg at cruise. makes a pleasing "cammy" noise at idle with strap on mufflers. in real life these things are LOUD with a howl like an E Type Jag. This bike is 5x more powerful (hp/kg) than my 275hp sedan car. fast? all the video's are true. most think it's a 1000cc . last bike a restored 1100 Katana but this is way more fun. very solid when ridden hard through bends. i'm in love

  • Bear in mind the ZZR600 is a 155mph bike with a 100bhp, so is mega fast and will get you into trouble if you don't use your head. I have a GS500E which I bought cheap so it does me. I was thinking about the ZZR600, but all that power will never get used, plus the parts are dear, especially if dropped.

  • @jtmarsh1982 Some Kawasakis are renowned for clutch chatter at idle. I had an AR125 and a ZZR250, both of which did this, but it is nothing to worry about. I never had any problems mechanically.

  • givemeagirl1, I am correcting what you said. Here in the USA, the zx6r is the sport bike and the zzr 600 is the sport tourer. Scorpionreptyle, you are wrong too. A FI bike has better throttle response than a carbd bike. Maybe not a lot but deff has better throttle response. Why do you think they changed all modern day sportbikes to FI? If you put the zzr 600 up against a current zx6r, the zx6r will deff win a race. Don't get me wrong the zzr 600 is very fast but not quite as todays sportbikes

  • I have an 08 ZZR600. Last year they were made in the US and yes its always been carbed. I really like this bike and despite it having a carburetor it is very responsive and FAST!!!

  • Cant u change gears???

  • carb engine is TYPICALLY cheaper then FI and TYPICALLY the USA will get a carb version of a bike while Europe and Japan get the FI
