The mountainous area bordering the Rhine river comprises of several small villages as well as the capital, Vaduz and the other principal village, Schellenburg. There is a small, family friendly ski resort, some vineyards and the castle of the Prince and his family. There is also some industry including the headquarters of Hilti AG, the manufacturer of hammer drills, firestops, and installation systems.
Typical Liechtenstein cuisine includes cheese "noodles" with fried onions and served with apple sauce. The wines are well made and the chardonnay and pinot noir are of particular note.
