Over several years, Edelman was part of an all-volunteer Commissioning Committee for the US Navy's newest ship, the USS New York-- which contains 7.5 tons of steel from the World Trade Center in its bow. Edelman led the communications strategy, provided counsel, supplied work stations, and supported activities for the commissioning including media outreach, event planning and assisting a successful fundraising effort that created an education fund for the ship's crew and their families.
Matthew Harrington, President and CEO-- Edelman U.S. and Vice Chairman of the USS NY Commissioning Committee, discusses our efforts.
