Excellent and unusual vocal, took me ages to figure out who it was I'd heard once do something similar: the late great Tim Buckley on his wonderful Greetings from LA album.. Way to go !

Yes, I've been asked a few times if I listen to Tim Buckley but no, I have never listened to any of his songs. I guess we have similar way of expressing feelings through music.
