hey douche, this was recorded in the 1980's and he was just making a point about how much information is being provided.

I said it is the future- as in- not the 1980s.
His point was that we wouldn't be able to sort all of the information we were collecting.
He was wrong, we've become very good at it.
I was just pointing that out.

If you listen to his voice carefully without looking at the screen, Ted Koppel sounds like hes taking a shit.

I saw Nightline right after Sonny Bono died. Ted Koppel's first words were 'He had no talent, he wasn't good looking blah blah blah' about Sonny. Sonny Bono who wrote some beloved music that is enjoyed throughout the world. I lost all respect for Ted that night . What a low life skunks asshole extraordinaire. To say that about any man on the night of his death is and always will be inexcusable, low class and grotesque.

What he said that was probably copy from the writers, meaning, they were saying even though Bono was not a "super talented singer" and "extremely good looking" he still made it as an entertainer. That's rare.

I think you missed the intent there, your assessment doesn't jibe with Ted Koppel as a very serious, professional newscaster.

flintmi, Ted insulted the man the night of his death. He didn't say it like you wrote. The 1st words out of his mouth were stupid insults, made worse yet if he's nothing more than a mindless mouthpiece for a copy writer.
It's not that Ted hasn't done good things in journalism, but to say these things about a man that just died is still inexuseable and perhaps worse , incorrect.

The Peoples Republic of Capitalism is an unprecedented documentary. There is a ton of critique on China.I am not offended because the critiques make sense.Ted Koppel shows great scholarly intelligence. Many politicians, including Obama, lack it!I enjoy Teds objectiveness and his sage to comprehend an alien culture.I laughed when a female Chongqing official bitchily reacted to criticism. She is a left-over of the inefficient socialist past.I wish the series could have been longer.I waited on Sunday.
