Humphrey Lyttelton and his Band 1955 The Fish Seller: recorded on 24 March 1955 and released 1955 "Jazz With Lyttleton (No. 1)" the first of a series of Jazz Albums. Another lovely Bechet composition so many of them peformed by Humph this one composed in 1952. The Title of this in French is much more impressive, at least to the English speaking ear - did you ever hear and ear ... oh forget it :-) Francais: "Marchand de Poissons" doesn't sound anything like The Fish Seller. A lovely tune preserved for our pleasure by Humph and his Band. Don't worry about, my friend. The light mistake is on the title of the song, on the bottom of your clip: le marchand de poissons instead of "le marcand".

I very much appreciate your uploads especially those by Humphrey, Chris and Ken which remind me my first stay in England during the fifties. Keep them coming.

My dear friend: so here we are again :) marchand I agree is correct and I have corrected that in the descrition and Title but I can't get into the slide so have to leave that :) BUT MY FRIEND the title in French is NOT "le marcand".it is "marchand" according to the French Insert in the album artwork.

It is very interesting that you went to England while I was going to France and the Netherlands after Bachet and Dutch Swing College (Later Denmark and papa Bue) TCCIC J

Not a good start for my New Year such a big mistake :)

But wait a minute let me think .... Yes on August 1st 2011 I uploaded a lovely tune my Sidney Bechet performed on january 18 1952 with the Claude Luter orch. now what was the title .... yes that's it: "marchand de poissons".

Of course what you say is correct also because "The Fish Seller" in French must be "le marchand de poissons".

Anyway I love the tune both by M. Bechet and by Mr. Lyttelton and that I think is what is important :)

So if there is a mistake here it must be errrrrr M. Lyttelton who should have called it "Fish Seller" and NOT "The Fish Seller" :)

Anyway I love the tune both by M. Bechet and by Mr. Lyttelton and I think that is what is really important :)
