PORT ALBERNI - A Port Alberni woman accused of aggravated assault against her infant son appeared in court today.
Lisa Ho's seven month-old baby was rushed to hospital in May with severe injuries. Doctors said he had suffered a brain hemorrhage, and it appeared the little boy had been shaken.
The little boy was hurt at a home on Morgan crescent in Port Alberni on May twelfth. After his mother brought him to West Coast General Hospital, the baby was airlifted to Victoria.
The boy's Father says it's been a long Summer, he has spent weeks in Vancouver by his son's side as the little boy slowly recovers from being paralyzed for a week on his right side, and learnt to cope with a feeding tube for several weeks.
It's been a challenge for the little boy, who had to re-learn simple skills such as eating after his injury and had to wear glasses. He's now almost one year old and his future looks promising, but doctors will keep a very close eye on his development.
Lisa Ho will make her next court appearance on October sixth.
