Prelude to War

1st heard this track 2 years ago and it blew me away. Bear McCreary knows his stuff. I have wanted to edit video to it for a long time and considered making one with modern fighters jets but realised it wouldn't work. So I decided to use war footage. I think about 50% of this video is shot during conflicts such as vietnam, iran iraq war, both gulf wars and so on. The rest being cold war ere footage such as the tsar bomb. I spent a few weeks collecting the footage and editing this. Take this video as it is, something to put to this fantastic music.

@TheREALSisko No offense I liked the video with the exception that it didn't end with the drum solo, like the original song, I just find those few seconds to be the most hair raising moments of the song.

@christian3092 I agree, its the part of the track I love the most too. The type of scenes that would have been needed to go with it however, we're ones I deemed to horrific in the end to include. The last part is up to your imagination instead.

@Galf506 If we're talking reality, I'm 100% in agreement with you...then again, that was also US doctrine at the outset of Vietnam, and reliance on missiles/radar didn't work so well (I'll spare myself the embarrassment of sounding like Michael Ironside from Top Gun heh).

But we must remember we're talking about a fictional space fighter that engages in dogfights, so instead of BVR we need to consider ITS - It's "in the script" for it to happen, since this is entertainment, not real :)

@dire5 Would never happen. Modern air fights are all BVR, no dogfight involved, just who's got the better radar and missiles wins.

@GammaWing1 That would be a *really* epic flight/fight to watch... I don't know if a Viper could handle that "cobra" + loop the SU-27 pulls at 1:58 though, so the Сухой might get a shot at getting behind the MkII.

That being said... yes, I'm a nerd/geek for engaging in that kind of elaborate thinking, but still, I think it would be awesome to watch!

@Foobyking9000 well, the M2 Browning is from 1905 I think, so there are older guns :P
