#4 Go Figure Lines, Figures, and Angles pt 2/2

The purpose of Go Figure? is to help students review for the mathematics section of the Grades 5-7 Ohio Academic Achievement Tests. The topics covered by the project address critical objectives found in the tests, but more importantly, they address those items that are frequently missed by students.
Carter and Chris must work with math concepts and solve problems related to lines, angles, and rays in order to receive numbered pool balls. The numbers will be used to spell out a coded message that Pythagleo hints will explain what makes Etna High School "different".
Note that Chris and Carter always point out that complementary angles and supplementary angles must share a common ray. This prevents students from overlapping their angles.

Math Content
Parallel and perpendicular: lines and planes.
Protractor use.
Acute, right, and obtuse angles.
Complementary, supplementary, and vertical angles.
Triangle: Sum of the angles = 180.

The original "Go Figure" series and CD-ROM game was produced in 1997 by the WOUB Center for Public Media; (Athens, Ohio) and WVIZ/ideaStream, (Cleveland, Ohio) - funded by the Ohio Educational Telecommunications Network Commission. In 2006, the curriculum was updated, CD-ROM re-mastered, and website created (woub.org/gofigure) - produced by the WOUB Center for Public Media with partner agency eTSEO (Educational Technology for Southeastern Ohio) - funded by the eTech Ohio Commission.
