I run a FH16, with twin stacks, and no Silencers "in-the-line"...
Out of the block, into a single pipe, to the back of the cab, and down... just like it would do, if it was going to connect with a silencer box... splitter/T-piece... 2 level/horizontal pipes... 90-degree bends... straight up the back of the cab... and out...
... and I have never had any problems, ANYWHERE in Europe...
The ONLY way, that a FH16 could be breaking the dB limit... would be to run it WITHOUT exhausts at all... just out of the block, and into the air (like an aircraft engine).... and even then, it would still be dampened, by the surrounding bodywork... so would most likely STILL be legal....
godanli, these narrow truck are for the alpine roads of Switzerland. All the postbuses that drive the alpine roads are 2.30m wide too. Most trucks now are of the standard 2.50 width for general trucking.
