A Norfolk Southern stack train which I think is 228 but not sure of heads north on the Piedmont Div. in Atlanta,GA. This was taken about a quarter mile down from the Amtrak station. Thanks NSNCrailfan for the train info!

  • How do you guys know the train numbers, example, the 238 etc?

  • You can tell by the kind of train ie. intermodal like this one and then the containers on it and also the time of day. Thats just me though. A lot of people have scanners and they can hear the radio chatter.

  • 228 is a Detroit, MI-Norfolk, VA train.

  • That's NS 238 because 228 doesn't run up the Piedmont Division. 228 runs up the Atlanta North District. Nice vid btw.

  • HA! lol look at 0:23, his back ditchlights are flashing!!

  • Love the horn and how he works it!

  • That looks like a 238 to Charleston, SC, he usually has more colored containers.
