Many people will have witnessed that terrible film starring Brad Pitt and directed by Wolfgang Peterson. Well this isn't it.

Here is "A Rhysy creation based on everyone's favourite alien by plexersoft, and that film by Wolfgang Peterson, which isn't anyone's favourite film at all"....

  • sometimes you just have to sit back and relax and enjoy a movie. if you notice it says "based" or "inspired by" the iliad. Sure the film may not have gotten eveyrthing correct and "butchered" it as some might say but when it comes to doing whats good for a film as opposed to accuracy you can bet hollywood will choose whats good for the film. i love that film IMO but that is just me.

  • ya achilles was killed by paris at the scaean gate. I think some of the scenes were realistic but they were not totally true to Mycenaean Greece. The weapons and armor definitely weren't and the city of Troy was way too big and without a lower town. As well the use of chariots was downplayed. I think they would notice a great deal out of place if they saw the film, but that is just my own opinion from reading a lot about the time period.

  • the gods were probably added to the story out of superstition. The charecters in the story were probably real people minus the superstition (gods, angels etc.)

  • archillies was killed by paris.

The movie was not 100% accurate but the scenes were realistic. Show the movie to someone from 1200 BC and he wont notice anything out of place in terms of realism

  • No it was not very realistic. I could list ALL the reasons but wouldn't have enough room. It's safe to say that they could not have made the Odyssey as a sequel to Troy because of how they butchered the story. Other inaccuracies are: Menelaus dies: wrong, Paris lives: wrong, Helen does not return to Sparta: wrong, Achilles dies in Troy: wrong, the fight between Achilles and Hector: inaccurate. I could go on. I wish they would make a movie of the Iliad and Odyssey true to Homer it would be great!

  • ha, it was not realistic at all. i could list all the inaccuracies but i wouldn't have enough room. I guess the best way to say it is that they could not have made a movie of the Odyssey as a sequel with how they did troy. Menelaus dies: wrong, Paris lives: wrong, Helen escapes: wrong, Achilles dies is Troy: wrong, the battle of Achilles and Hector: not correct! I could go on and on, they really need to make a good movie of the Iliad and the Odyssey it would be great if they followed Homer!

  • trust me, Troy is deffinatly not realistic! Its a good movie but they muddle up characters and miss out the gods lol! there are much more inaccuracies which would take to long to type lol!

  • what do you mean troy was a bad movie? I liked it and it hink it was very realistic.

  • "the other Ajax" LMAO

  • haha wtf
