Yorky Read here,the younger brother,was in the observation party Golf 12,centurion tank driver 1968 till change over with 49 field regt in Hohne,my elder brother James was in the quartermasters dept,I,m living in the netherlands now ,in a place called Wijchen near Nijmegen ,all the best to anyone who knows me Phil Antrobus or Tom Grozier etc.
I would like to know when they ceased to be the sussex gunners. I was in 'E' troop, 159 Colenso Field Battery 1974-1979 in dortmund. Though it is good to know the regiment has survived all the various cuts. Am so damm proud to have served and bled for some of the best soldiers I have ever known
They were a ex Kent regiment from Shorncliffe when I was with them in 66 to 70, And a proud bunch of men they are, I am pleased to see they have the freedom of Birmingham, And wish them all the best ofluck for the future.
26 feild regt were the sussex gunners when i was in 71 to 74 when did this change 1 was in 16 light battery and 13 battery attached a nato force a lot of the boys came from brighton and every were else in the uk and eire

I was with 16 Bty at Shorncliffe and in Malaya in1959 finishing my time with them in shewsburyness.
Dave Clark, Joe King, and nobby Jolly. we still keep in contact.
