This is from some HD footage I was kindly allowed to take at Eagle Heights wildlife park. http://www.eagleheights.co.uk/ They have a cheetah, and they feed it on a zip wire, so you can actually stand about 2m away from it as it runs past you and catches its food!

As it's running toward me, the footage is slowed to half speed, so you can see it so much more clearly. Its muscles and gracefulness are amazing!

The rabbit is pulled along at 50mph, and it's clear that the cheetah catches it very easily!

I really loved the bird shows too, but the highlight of the day for me was seeing the cheetah up close.

  • Wow thanks so much, this will help alot :D

  • @themousemaster Brilliant! Be sure to post a link when it's finished!

  • The rabbit was certainly dead, and would have been humanley killed in advance. This place is run by animal lovers, and they would not have caused any living thing any pain.

  • very beutyfull demostration of a great run of this wonderfull animal, and its very usefull reference for me and all the animators so nice video !!

  • @Broinix Thanks! I used quite a fast shutter speed, in the hope that it would produce sharp individual frames too...

  • hahahaha really that bunny runs kinda weird! lmao :D

  • @OwlsGate LOL! I think the Rabbits use a special technique to get up to 50mph!

  • Most beautiful animal on this planet. #1 cheetah fan! ^^

  • the cheetah didnt even swipe at it...this incredibly beautiful creature is well aware that it is performing a task and not on a natural hunt...it's harnessed like a dog and show's little desire to run down it's ''PREY''....very sad.

  • i lov cheetah!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you think it would be possible to strap a camera to the back of a cheetah, curious at what it would look like.

  • @chrisbitz sure :D

  • @Rxypup lol

  • was the bunny real or did they kill it by pulling it with the rope?
