Santa Rosa City Council--Employee Free Choice Act

This is a video of the Santa Rosa City Council members on May 5, 2009 commenting on whether or not they plan to support a City Council resolution endorsing the Employee Free Choice Act--a piece of Federal legislation. The legislation would not directly affect the city government.

Three of the councilmembers did not feel they were elected for such purposes. Therefore, Councilmember Sawyer voted "no" on the resolution and Councilmembers Olivares and Bender abstained. The other councilmembers, including Mayor Gorin, voted in favor of the resolution supporting the resolution.
