  • This man is speaking from the heart. Very refreshing.

  • @ardruma Real question is, how else you will pay your debt ? It's easy to say "do something you like" when you're on a scholarship with no stips, but it won't be as easy for 90% of today's law students, in fact, it will be terrible for roughly 70% of them.

  • Haha, some of you obviously don't yet work in Big Law. You don't bill anywhere near 100% of your time. Don't go this route unless you want to practically live at work.

  • Wow...

  • @bigrobdeezey billable hours is not equivalent to the amount of hours you work per week. If you work 70 hours a week, about 50 of those may be billable.

  • Do lawyers have an interest in a coup d'etat or when the feds commit crimes against humanity? Where do you go when you're psychologically tortured for 3 and half years and your family is forced to sign NSLs and conduct Psy-ops experiments on you? How can I be denied a lawsuit or to speak with an attorney? Any thoughts are appreciated?

  • @jmurphrocks15 Remember, not all the time is spent at work.

When you consider the breaks, the lunch time, the moments where Partners act like complete ass holes and force you to fix random shit like their daughter's PMS problems or help other associates with their work, you end up not billing the entire 70 hours spent in the office.

That's why that dude in the video said billing 2000 hours/year is crazy, and it is.

  • @WarrenAch why can't you bill every hour you're in the office? You're always working on a case when you're in the office, therefore you bill your time to that client

  • A lot of people work 2 jobs and work the same amount of hours as big firm lawyers. Should we blast them for doing it to support their family, like we do big firm lawyers?
