  • Those of you who fail to recognise the magnificence of this human achievement and instead write comments about sound in space and graphics, lack perspective IMHO.

  • @josiachicas Sorry if i misunderstood that comment. But did you just say the solar panels made the pod move?

  • @ItsTheAlfred they have 6minutes to stop the rover from travelling at 12,000mph to land it softly on the surface. so just parachutes most likely wont work as good. Yeah i read the news, so what, wanna fight about it.

  • @josiachicas

The pod is not moving toward Mars because of the solar panels. The pod continues to travel on it's path due to the momentum carried from when it was put into orbit with Earth. The solar panels are there to keep the on board batteries powered so that the electronics can remain powered and the ground can continue to communicate with it for the duration of the trip. The comment may have been old, but it was unanswered and ridiculously ignorant, like your response.

  • @Mojoe2119 no.... first of all that comment is months old, second of all its not momentum the pod had solar panels to keep it going. open a damn book

  • @josiachicas

............ It's called the conservation of momentum. My goodness open a damn book.

  • Rover's got a jetpack.

  • @swerdman55 yes but it's much thinner than earth's it might have bin thicker and supported life in the past, but know one knows for sure, that's is one of the reasons why we are exploring Mars.

  • and where are the Zerg?

  • Mars has a atmosphere? Isn't that the only reason it would burn while approaching the planet? Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm a space noob.

  • A little overcomplicated if you ask me... but they're the experts
