People can hijack Wikipedia and put anything they want on it, even the goverment. Why were the FBI after a cowboy boot thief when there were hundreds of unsolved murders. It was a set up.

2009, still no answers on who killed Anna Mae. The muders of 100's during the "reign of terror " on Pine Ridge. And still Leonard Peltier is locked away by goverment deceit.

This song makes goose bumps on me. The long and short of Anna Mae's murder was Greed. The same reason Leonard Peltier is still in prison. The Wilson requiem was some of the source of greed...

Nice song, like a ballad. Have you read "The Unquiet Grave" by Steve Hendricks?
The book is a great inside look at AIM and how the FBI created dissent within the group through rumors(real?) of informers among the upper echelon of AIM.
It seems like AIM leadership began to fall apart after the group and Anna Mae were pulled over one night in Oregon(mid '75) before her murder. They were carrying a cachet of weapons back from Seattle to Pine Ridge.
The bottom started to give out after this.

Her murder has finally been convicted, And fools like Sociology know nothing these are the type who will never value our native women. AIM brass at the time were scared and seen spy's every where and ordered her killing in a blind belief of their fears. When will they stand up and be real leaders and admit their wrong doings and not be scare boys. They must face the creater one day.
SHAME ON THEM THESE ARE NOT LEADERS BUT PUNKS>

@tjlightningbolt ..... no.... the FBI wanted her dead because she exposed the truth about all the uranium mining that was illegally going on to the rest of AIM. The thing with "Leonard and her best friend wanting her dead". That's just a farce and prefabricated sham as a cover-up, that's all. Remember ... Leonard is in prison for something he did not even do and I strongly believe the whole incident at the Jumping Bull compound that day was just a cover up story for the FBI, that's all.

@S0CIOLOGY ...... 1) Anna Mae would never even think about doing such a thing to her own children! 2) This so-called affair she had with Dennis Banks was just a cover up to try and distract the real problems that were going on with AIM. 3) She never "made bombs to hurt someone or something?" There's no evidence of this. And 4) Anna Mae was and will always be the perfect role model for many Native women all over. She was the White Buffalo Calf Woman who never once committed femicide!

@westthunder ..... No!! It was ACTUALLY the FBI who shot her because she spoke out against all the uranium mining that was illegally occurring on Lakota lands!! The FBI and all the bureaucrats in DC just want you to think it was AIM who did it. Many thought she was an FBI informant which was another lie. She was too loyal to AIM to do such a thing!! Anyways .... I just thought I'd mention this to you.
Moose crap Page go find your own heritage, youd get yer ass kicked for singing this crap on the rez fer sure

It was actually an AIM member who shot her, but the feds set it up saying she was an informant when everything was coming down. The wife of one of the founding members of AIM turned in the guy.

From Russel Means website.....ANNA MAE AQUASH CASE On November 3, 1999, in Denver, CO, I participated in a press conference to discuss the murder of Anna Mae Aquash. Anna Mae was a loyal memeber of the American Indian Movement (AIM), a veteran of the 1973 liberation of Wounded Knee, and a defender of all Indian people. She was brutally murdered in the winter of 1975; her body was found on the frozen plains of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation on February 24, 1976.
