@Exorcistkanda Religion can be a convenient excuse for scoundrels to do terrible things. Religion can also be a tool that people use to better themselves. I'm not going to accept or deny gods publicly because it detracts from the argument, but it's really stupid and ignorant to put religion on trial. Scoundrels would be scoundrels without it, they'd just find some other camouflage. You're also putting too much importance on worship. No-ones going to go insane from losing faith.

@MindlessInvalid One could also say that the things they do, whether good or evil, is in the name of god. Thus it benefit them as they don't really need to pay with anything much worshipping, god is turning into a convenient excuse, whether he exist or not. Man will go insane and suffer from fear if they don't have something they can believe in, well, that only apply to those who believe in them though.

@Exorcistkanda I'm not going to make any pro or anti religion statements. I won't say I acknowledge or disavow the existence of god. What I will say is that humans wouldn't worship something that didn't reflect their nature. We as a species worship that which is greater than us when we think it will benefit us, and we pacify that which is greater than us when we think we will be punished. Religion is like a dog trainer, and the faithful are the mutts it keeps.
