I bought it as a 45 RPM back when it was first released and I guard that record with my life! When I'm down or moody, I listen to this song and suddenly life seems brighter. Thanks for posting this - although it was Bobby's biggest hit, it never got the recognition it deserves.

I've had this song on the vinyl LP since when it first came out - had to be over 30 years ago - still love it!

wow.. i played with bobby for almost a year.. was one of my first gigs as a pro..
he was the last of a dying breed by the time i joined.. could drink a full 40 every night and was the best poker player i ever met.. one of a kind.. if he was born in the states.. he'd have had quite a career in the off the strip show bars... instead.. it was Meadow lake.. prince albert... and if we were lucky we'd end the tours in a city with an airport..
good times good times..

The one song that sticks in my head since 1978 in 'Give my love to Lady Canada' I find myself singing this tune to myself when thinking of those early years...would love to hear that song again. I think it was on the tv show ' the Lawrence welk show' where I first heard it. Is Bobby Griffith still around??

@cityguy52 Hey there. Bobby was a friend of my parents and when I was 13 years old, that's about 34 years ago, he taught me how to play the guitar when he came to visit. What ever happened to him. He was a very wonderful person and I loved his music.

is he stillaround? if he is...he should re-release..betcha it goes gold!
I did the rhythm arrangement and played piano on this session with Val Bent(guitar),Terry Goddard(bass),and Al Ison(drums)...Jerry Toth did the string and horn arrangement...Yeah I played with Bobby G.foe a couple of years in the early 70's when Jules Rabkin was his manager and he was doing the Welk show ,Granny's in Toronto and all those other clubs around Ontario...

It's such a great song, I first heard it five- six years ago on Am740 radio in Toronto. I have since tried to find some more recordings by Bobby G. Griffith, with no luck.
