For an artist who dominated the charts for more then three decades, generating 46 Top-10 hits, including the 4th biggest song (Crazy Arms) in country music all-time, his induction was certinaly over due. Price started out honing his skills as a Hank Williams' protege. When Hank died in 1953, Ray struck out on his own and formed the Cherokee Cowboys. During the next twenty years, Ray was a dominate force in country music, in terms of talend, chart hits and influence.
This is Ray Price at his best. Not only is he a great performer, but he always surrounded himself with the best Nashville session musicians such as those on this song: Grady Martin (guitar), Harold Bradley (rhythm guitar), Buddy Emmons (steel), Tommy Jackson (fiddle), Floyd Cramer (piano) and Buddy Harmon (drums). Recorded 3/19/65 Nashville

Now blue ain't the word for the way that I feel And the storms brewing in this heart of mine
This ain't no crazy dream I know that its real You're someone else's love now, you're not mine
Crazy arms that reach to hold somebody new For my yearning heart keeps saying you're not mine
My troubled mind knows soon to another you'll be wed And that's why I'm lonely all the time
So, please take the treasured dreams I had for you and me And take all the love I thought was mine
Someday my crazy arms may hold somebody new But now I'm so lonely all the time
Crazy arms that reach to hold somebody new For my yearning heart keeps saying you're not mine
My troubled mind knows soon to another you'll be wed And thats why I am lonely all the ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The greatest thing about the later versions of this song sung by the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis and Willie Nelson is to remind me how GREAT the original by Ray Price was!
I am a new listener to this. I hadn't heard this song until I was older, About maybe 23 or so. I'm 25 years old now. Shameful, Because this song is part of my own family. My third Cousin had wrote this song.

It's unbelievable how after 50+ years of music has elapsed, the feeling of heartbreak hasn't been conveyed in music more accurately.
