Layering & Styling my Virgin Glam Hair

I made this L-shape wig because I wanted to try something different! But per usual I punked out at the thought of hair being in my face! The parting method is still the same as any other L-shape, i just moved my part closer to the middle so the hair wouldn't be in my face!!

Hair Info:
This is the cutting and styling video for my l-part wig. The hair that i have installed is from www.VirginGlam.com. I have the following lengths installed:
28.26.24.22.20 &18.

Products used:
Diana Paddle Brush
Japanese steel shears (gifted to me)
Hot Tools 1 inch curling iron

I didn't apply any product to the hair. I slept in flexirods to maintain this style!

I wanted to know can you use a razor comb to do the layering? and if you wanted to layer doing a side part is that the same method to use like in this video?
