The first step was a proof of concept using two differently sized piezo tweeters...the motivation being to decipher the code which ended up being psudo-random (clock driven) anyway. But alas, this led to the installation of a 1/4" stereo jack and eventually to being able to modulate an envelope generator on a modular synth...

@falco1663 it's just hacking...there doesn't have to be a point unless there's one for you.

How did rabbit hole lead to piezo tweeters? A few of us were thinking initially that the eyes flashing was some sort of code to be deciphered. But they were flashing too fast to look at and be able to write down the combinations (L:on, L:off, R:on, R:off, Both:on Both:off). So went to Fry's: with the tweeters was able to use ears instead of eyes to record sequence. Alas, there WAS no code (was random).

Even if it wasn't a hack of any sort modifying the code on the flash or whatever was on that chip, even stringing together some wires and peizos is way out of his league. He should keep his mouth shut.
