  • malay are just the descendants from sriwijaya kingdom, so shut the fuck up !

  • right ! it's not malay ! it's from palembang ( sriwijaya ) now known as indonesia ! MALAYSIA TRULY INDONESIA ! HA HA

  • Wow. The little guy at 0:41 was pretty damned quick with that sweep. (Granted, that *particular* one was pretty ineffectual, but damn, the kid's got some speed.)

  • Silat in Malaysia (social/cultural point of view) = a part of Malay community, regardless of what kind of Malay you are (Javanese, Bugis, Mendeling, Banjar, Minang, and so on). 70% silat origin from Indonesian islands. Mostly from Sumatera, and there's a few from Java. There's a countable number from Makassar.

Silat in Malaysia (political point of view) = a Malaysian heritage (Indonesian silat stylists hate this statement).

Silat in Indonesia = Indonesian origin. Pure Indonesian art.

  • dekiru,

Malay in Malaysia = Java, Bugis, Mendeling, Banjar, Minang, and so on.

Malay in Indonesia = a very small community residing somewhere in Indonesia. Also refers to Malaysian indigenous community.

Malay in History = every single indigenous people residing throughout the MALAY Archipelago.

  • your wrong

  • as far as i know, it's not malay martial art... it's from Indonesia.
