Same excuse, different version, they didn't do it in the right utopian way before. I could use the same excuse for capitalism but it is still miles better then any atempt at Marxism. If people were ready for the marxist utopia they would do it by themselves out of the goodness of there hearts as an expression of who they were as a societ. No one would need to hold a gun to there head and kill more than 80 million so far to try to get the right version.

Capitalist haven't had to distort anything, the truth is self evident. Wherever Marx ideas are applied, in whatever new guise, they fail. You will know them by there fruits. Capitalism isn't perfect, but an imperfect version of Capitalism will beat a pimped up version of Marxism any day, proven again, and again, and again.
