In his latest political thriller, veteran Australian Director Phillip NOYCE, levels his gaze at Apartheid South Africa. Set in the 1980s, Catch a Fire tells the real life story of Patrick Chamusso (Derek LUKE), who leads a comfortable existence for a black man living in South Africa. He has a beautiful wife, Precious (Bonnie HENNA), loving children and a secure job as a foreman at the Secunda oil refinery. However, a twist of fate leads to accusations of terrorism and Patrick's life is forever changed. The innocent Patrick comes face to face with the infamous Col. Nic Vos (Tim ROBBINS) of the Police Security Branch. Ironically, Patrick's mistreatment at their hands, leads him to become the enemy of the state he is falsely accused of.
