  • I was born in Abu Dhabi, my father was born in Aden in 1949, my grand father born in Aden in 1914 and died in the BP Refinery Hospital in 1959, he was an Accounts Clerk in the BP Refinery as well as Famous Singer in Aden, my grand mother worked with the British War Dept. in the Waterloo Pool in 1960, Although I didn't visit Aden my father always speaks about the beautiful days in Aden. The Video affected my father, bcz he was living in the same area and he used to swim a lot in the same beach.

  • Thanks for your comment and sorry you had difficulty in posting it. I have had to set comments for approval only, because otherwise they attract a lot of extreme or inappropriate political comment.

  • Well, its okay i guess you have the right for approving only the appropriate comments. Thanks for uploading this video. and sorry for my late comment.

  • Just to put it on record, we don't want to be thought heavy handed, but the comments not approved have generally been extremely anti-Western and in very coarse language. We recognise that some people find problematic political issues here, but there are ways of making this point.

  • Hi, I lived in Aden between 1964 and 1966, my Dad was in the RAF. I was 8 when we arrived. Is there anyone out there who lived there around that time and was around that age? If so, I'd love to chat with you!

I hope that you forgive me because of my poor English

    Greetings from Aden

  • i have graduated from medical school in aden in 2003, iam from palestine and i live in usa now, but you know what, nothing like aden its my dream city.i love you aden, i did swim in the same area too many times, its all about history now..

  • I agree with you, I have understand from my grandmother who born in Aden in 1918 and immigrated to United Arab Emirates in 1977 and she died two years back in Abu Dhabi, assured to me that during the Protection of Her Majesty Forces they gain a lot such as Education, peace,Love and peace with all other Nationals and the proper policy and procedure to make easy life for everybody living in Aden. The question is after withdrawal of the British Forces in August 1967 what we gain?

  • My niece name is Aden, she is one and a half year and I love her so much.

  • I hope you get a chance to visit yemen inshallah =) - an absolutely wonderful experience that I was grateful to have had. simply beautiful =)

(p.s. try 2 visit other parts of yemen and not just the main cities sanaa or Aden)

    take care =)
