If you're still thinking RPG means punch cards, you haven't seen RPG in a couple of decades.

I beg to differ. Traditional RPG is one of the most successful languages devised.

For those who know, it's much easier to analyze other people's bad code when written in columnar RPG than when the bad code is written free-format style.

Short field names are better than long ones also; wordy languages are a drag.

Free format is de work of de debil.

BS re easier to read and work with: even upper and lower case reduces the visibility and utility (i.e. spoolfile search)
