Thomas Jefferson had several pet mockingbirds. His favorite, named "Dick", traveled to France with him and lived in the Exec Mansion office when he was pres. Dick would entertain guests by saying "Want a bath?" and "More 'oap, more 'oap!". (a gentle suggestion about personal hygiene, perhaps?).
That is really cool! Was she wearing the same clothes she'd worn when she approached the nest before? I wonder how the mockingbirds can tell her apart from everyone else-- her facial features, her hair, the way she moves...?
