Desert Dreaming - Ali MC and New Dub City

In August 2011 New Dub City undertook a two-week tour of Aboriginal communities in the remote Ngaanyatjarra Lands of the Western Desert. As part of Ali MC's work in the area, New Dub City conducted a series of DJ workshops and concerts in the communities of Irrunytju, Warakurna, Wanarn and Jameson.

The Western Desert has produced a number of great reggae bands, which can be heard on the album Turlku 4 (available on iTunes). For more information on the Ngaanyatjarra communities go to www.ngurra.org

This video is a snapshot of New Dub City in concert in Warakurna, with footage from both Warakurna and Wanarn communities. Massive thanks to Anangu (people of the land) of the Western Desert, Ngaanyatjarra Media and all the tjitji (little kids) around the communities.
