@gymnastix Be sure to direct your request for the DVD releases of Seasons Six through Eight of "The Donna Reed Show" to the Home Entertainment division of Sony; also to specifically mention Seasons Six through Eight, and not Seasons Four and Five, which are separately negotiated by the estates of Tony Owen & Donna Reed, d/b/a "Todon Productions" with MPI Home Video.
-
@gymnastix Businesses still regard an old-school, handwritten or typed letter, sent through the postal system, more seriously than an e-mail or signature on a petition; the rationale being if a person cares enough to go through the extra work of writing a formal letter, buying a postage stamp and mailing correspondence, such a gesture is more worthy of consideration and /or a reply.
The mailing address of Sony is:
Sony Corporation of America
550 Madison Avenue
New York, NY 10022

Seasons 4 & 5 of "The Donna Reed Show" are being released by MPI Home Video, which leaves Seasons 6-8 left to be released on DVD/home video.
The rights to Seasons 6-8 are held by Sony (by way of Columbia TriStar), which is the direct inheritor of what was once Columbia Motion Pictures Television/Screen Gems, the original distributor of "The Donna Reed Show."
Fans of the series should deluge Sony with e-mails and snail mails, the latter means regarded more seriously as a persuasive technique.

@millenniumman75 I think he means the last season. Many shows had gone to color in The Donna Reed Shows last season(1965-1966), but TDRS was one of the few that remained in black and white.
-
@41clipper - the episodes would have to be colorized. The series was entirely done in black and white.

i like to see donna reed show in color

@144wychwood I did not know this when I watched those shows. The logos were lopped off but I finally saw them on "The Flintstones" on WFLD in Chicago and I saw The Dancing Sticks restored on "Johnny Quest".
-
The Farmer's Daughter like Flintstones and other early Hanna-Barbera cartoons such as Jonny Quest, Jetson's and Top Cat were produced or distributed by Columbia Pictures TV subsidiary Screen Gems.
-
Could be because musician, composer, actor, Frank Devol was responsible for both.
Thanks for bringing back what I have been searching for so long. That's awesome.
