Attenuation is between 0.1 dB and 0.50 dB, I have an average of 0.20 to 0.30 dB.
It exists now an angle version for connector (SC/APC), and even an angle connector AND angle splice, it works very good, with an excellent return loss (-57 dB for 1550 nm, and -61dB for 1310nm).

why not use optic splicer
your solution probably will give high attenuation
