OOk. What the hell is a backspar?
-
a pulley
-
what is the metal thing on the main arm of the loader?
-
Thanks for clearing that up, I kind of figured that either Interfor or Weldwood used blue at one time, or the rusty red, but I wasn't sure which. Great to have you back!
-
All of Weldwood's gear was rusty red and white. When I was in Quatlena River the Interfor trucks were those colors with Weldwood decals. They just got weeded out at the rate of attrition through the years.

Did they use the rusty red with a white cab, too? Or was that Weldwood? Our TL-6 is that colour, it was a Weldwood machine on Gilford Island, then became Interfor, then Edwards. It started out on tracks, too, then got converted to rubber by Interfor. They bought a kit from W.I.W. That would be quite the kit! "Ages 8 & up" for sure!

yup. they stayed blue for quite a few years with their own camp and operations equipment from the days when they purchased Whonnock Timber. They moved away from that money wasting BS after a while though. But if you went to Chamiss Bay westcoast Vancouver Island in late 80's early 90's all the gear was blue and white. Thats where Elaho got colors from. Interfor Empire division.

Interfor was blue, too?
The backspar DOES look M&B red.
The old loader, could be any old faded orange, Hitachi, Weldwood, Fletcher, etc.
Interfor was for sure Blue. We did lots of blue for them, Roadbuilders, loaders, yarders.
Pacific Forest Products before WFP bought them was blue, the same as interfor. Pacific had gold river and zeballos and had a lot of the same iron as Interfor so their stuff can be hard to tell apart if you dont know who had what.

The backspar was ex-MB, as was the loader. The loader was just plain Hitachi orange.
