Strathclyde Mechanical Engineering student project, 2007. To build a human-powered water pump that could be used to irrigate farm land. They used two cylinders, they should have gone for three which would have made it much easier to work.
Why go through all that trouble linking chains this or that - you could have done this with a simple pump operated by hand. - And it would yield much more output (water)
@kitsurubami Your could build a bellows and attach a bike to that to force air into a pit but you might want to convert the wood to charcoal you can use wood iv used it before but takes forever.

very cool. i would like to craft a bike powered wood furnace some day to smelt various metals. i'm no engineer though. ahhahaha

it works fine, but this has to work as a continuous pedaling, I feel it stops in few location while pedaling. however good try.
