We knew coming into today that the Datsun 510 had to do better if it wanted to survive against the big F150. So when it actually ran slower this round with a 20.5, it made it easy for the F150 because all it really had to do was avoid any catastrophic failures. Which is exactly what it did when it ran a 19.3sec time, clinching a spot in the final race and earning another 2 points for team Max-G.
