THE BURNING BUSH: Best of Yiddish, Klezmer & Sephardic Music.
Soundtracks:
1) HASSIDIC DANCE: The mystical Hassidic movement of Judaism originated in 18th century in Poland and diffussed all around Jewish communities of Eastern Europe. The Hassidim believe in the quest for inmediate and ecstatic religious experience based on the sacred texts and, to this end, music and dance are very extensively used. Many Hassidic dances were, however, adopted by the Klezmorim and used for secular entertainments.
2) KLEZMER MEDLEY: Three Klezmer tunes who come from the repertoire of Dave Taras (1897-1989),one
of the most celebrated Jewish musicians who came from Eastern Europe and settled in New York in 1921.

All the soundtracks added into this video belong to my own multimedia library on WMP.

  • I managed to acquire a cassette with Lucy Skeaping and the Burning Bush. Avram Avinu and Rhozhinkes Mit Mandeln are favourites of mine. Since my ancestors came from Mecklenburg they must have listened to the Ashkenaz songs and I'm proud of the fact that we survived (as did the music) Shalom all

  • THE CLARINET SOUD IS SO BEATIFUL
