A thought-provoking and powerful documentary film on the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Unlike any other film ever produced on the conflict -- 'Occupation 101' presents a comprehensive analysis of the facts and hidden truths surrounding the never ending controversy and dispels many of its long-perceived myths and misconceptions.
The film also details life under Israeli military rule, the role of the United States in the conflict, and the major obstacles that stand in the way of a lasting and viable peace. The roots of the conflict are explained through first-hand on-the-ground experiences from leading Middle East scholars, peace activists, journalists, religious leaders and humanitarian workers whose voices have too often been suppressed in American media outlets.
The film covers a wide range of topics -- which include -- the first wave of Jewish immigration from Europe in the 1880's, the 1920 tensions, the 1948 war, the 1967 war, the first Intifada of 1987, the Oslo Peace Process, Settlement expansion, the role of the United States Government, the second Intifada of 2000, the separation barrier and the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, as well as many heart wrenching testimonials from victims of this tragedy.
Hatred never ceases by hatred but by love alone is healed. This is the ancient and eternal law.
Like a caring mother holding and guarding the life of her only child, so with a boundless heart hold yourself and all beings.
Live in joy, in love, even among those who hate.
Live in joy, in health, even among the afflicted.
Live in joy, in peace, even among the troubled.
Look within, be still.
Free from fear and attachment, know the sweet joy of the way.

Ok you are right , i got carried away a bit there , but what still remains the truth is that the world only wants to see one side of the story , and that is that ONLY the jews are wrong , but thats not right , because years before the jews came to palestine as refugees there was a limitation set for how many jews could live in that country and that was a small limit, you could say that both sides are equaly as wrong because of their Zealothry and hate. :)

@rends You should research the history of both Zionism and Palestine and decide for yourself but for me, it is not right a foreign army should kick out local people from their own land. That is land-grabbing, invasion and occupation. The Palestinians are certainly the victims since they received the short end of the deal and are stateless up to this day.

@dudefrombelgium The Arabs are not one group whose interests are all the same. You speak as if it is ok to force Palestinians out of their land and homes so they can move elsewhere. You forget that is their home for several generations. How would you like it if foreigners occupied a "little part" of your country?

@AccordGTR The Jews owned roughly 35% of the land by 1948. The other 65% was either Arab land (on a much smaller scale) and British owned (on a much larger scale). Moreover, the total population in the "Palestinian" territories is roughly 4 million whereas there are roughly 5.75 million Jews in Israel. And who cares if they were/are a minority? They still have a right to the land just as the Arabs do. The Arabs should have accepted the 2 state solution back in 1948...now look at them.

acctualy if you think about it , arab have all the land they can get ,
palestinian culture is in its root the same as any other Muslim culture
And i must say as a jew that muslim culture is beautifull.
So why cant we have just this tiny little patch of land the size of Flanders?
even when it is given to us in times of need?
have we no right to our culture? should the entire middle east , even a land as tiny as that be occupied and ruled by arabs only?
Give me a break.

@rends
During world war 2 a palestinian member and cencus of the defense proposed
a treathy that there would be an exchange of population , because there where so many
Jewish refugees comming to jerusalem to escape from the Nazi's.
So all jews in arab country's went to palestine and all palestinians went to muslim country's.
Everybody on both sides lost equaly and won equaly and should benefit out of this on long therm.
nobody ever seems to think about the jews who left there homevillages.
