My brother Bruce and I took a road trip to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes Lake Shore National Park! The site got it's name from a Native American story about a Mama bear who swam across Lake Michigan looking for her cubs. She died on the Michigan side and became the dunes. Her cubs are now called North Manitou Island and South Manitou Island. This was a trip I've wanted to make since I was kid. It was a fun afternoon! I enjoy the natural wonders of my state.

  • @nancyleeould The place is a natural treasure. I loved getting to see it. This summer marked the first time I got to doi it. :)

  • Cool. That was quite a run down that steep hill to the shore. Thanks for the

video. I liked the little birdie too.

  • @giraffepoo It really is one cool place, Barb! Wished I had done this years ago. Another trip in Fall would be neat to see the leaves turn color. :)

  • Awesome! I've never been to the sand dunes before! Love the scenic views! Really windy out there!!!
