I was having a bit of an anorak moment earlier and noticed I couldn't find this on youtube so I thought I'd remedy the situation. I wonder how long it will take for the copyright thought police to nobble it?

  • Pure Caroline.Still regularly played, and always will be, I'm sure. Even now, whenever it starts, especially unannounced, the hairs bristle and the immediate feeling of " I wonder if something's up?" automatically flows through me for a nanosecond or two.The same feeling occurs at the sound of the first notes of Les Reeds 'Man Of Action'. If you were around at the relevant times, you'll know what I mean.If not, it's a very long story of a classic radio era - and one I'm so glad I lived through

  • Hard to believe they went on to find fame as Ian Dury's Blockheads.

  • I really love the original version "Guru" by the band-Skip Bifferty

  • this is soooooo good!!!

  • So true linesync and I miss her everyday. Catch Roger Day from the Mi Amigo days on BBC Surrey (I think), he celebrates Caroline every show and last week played 'a former Andy Archer sure shot' as if it was yesterday! The memory lives on

  • @losttango 5 months too late sunshine!

  • I was introduced to this album by a girlfriend 34 years ago and I still regularly listen to it today. It still sounds great to me. Its a pity no one I speak to has ever heard of them.

  • Sounds so Beatle-esque & all the better for it !

    Could almost be Lennon singing......

Have the original vinyl album - Great memories...............even allowing for shit Caroline reception !

Did they ever perform live ?

  • Just thought I'd point out, since no-one else has, that this band consisted of John Turnbull, Mickey Gallagher, Charlie Charles and Norman Watt-Roy, who went on to form the core of Ian Dury's Blockheads.

  • fantastic to hear again. I remember listen to them on my tranny under the covers.. thanks for digging this up.
