Silent hill was partly inspired by Jacob's Ladder.

Sounds like a blaring signal, as is someone's sanity has finally broke and they are going into psychological meltdown.

this track plays in the very beggining og the game, in Cheryl´s Chase along the alleys. You can heard this song in the Trial version of Sh too, plus one more track that wasnt incluyed in the OST.

I find it interesting that Akira's scariest work was also his earliest.
This and "My Heaven" grinds "Prayer" and "Rain of the Brass Petals" into the dirt any day.
That's not to say that his later works are bad (ROTBP is my favorite song by him), these are just scarier.
