What about Ronald Reagan? He was Irish American. There were a few others too, but I think JFK is maybe remembered as the first Roman Catholic president. His words in this video certainly reflect my own longing for Ireland.

Love your song. Dispite the title my song "Don't Ever Go to Ireland," we are both saying the same.

Just came back to the U.S. from Ireland, again I have left all of my family there and each time I leave it hurts more. I left Ireland 16 years ago but it has never left me.

Billy Connolly once said he was equally at home in Scotland and Ireland.Only a Scotsman can understand that statement.I am Scottish and when I am in Ireland I am home.Strange phenomenon but oh so true.Erinn go Bragh

Gracias Maria....Although I live in Texas and attempt to converse in Spanish often, you remind me how little I know. I did however understand your comment and appreciate your thoughts. I also think if you look hard enough, you'll find an Irishman in the family tree

Thank you. As an Irish American New Yorker, I've come to realize that you can feel the same way even if you are a ferry boat or an ocean liners distance away
