that's bec the parade of nations since 1990, has been pre-recorded that's why the girls wear lesser gear/suits during the opening number and can dance m,ore freely. if the same technique had been done in 1987 and 1988 then the choreo would've looked less awkwaed

1994 was very classy and feminine... of course, the ladies (majority) did o wear their complex headgears and wore lesser ornaments for their native suits that's why they were able to dance gracefullest! (though they did "shapeshift" during par.of nat. LOL)

@MrPrincebinondo i agree...
1. 1988 - the choreo should've been simplified and that most of the contestants should've has the option to wear simpler costumes ...
2. which is why , since 1990, the opening number is live but the parade of nations is recorded... hence, most ladies during the op.num. do not wear headdresses or lighter natl costumes and explains why "the sudden changes" in their appearances when the par.of.nations is done

Miss Universe Opening Number of 1988 was good but the Choreography is exaggerating and heavy for the contestants. It would have been good if the dance was light and demure to retain the femininity of the ladies. Miss Universe 1993 was good also but the upbeat of the song and the choreography did not match. I really prefer the MISS UNIVERSE 1994 OPENING because of the ff reasons:
1.) The beat and choreography matched perfectly
2.) The Choreography was suited for the feminine contestants,
One of the BEST openings in MISS UNIVERSE HISTORY!
