Valerie's discomfort after a bunion operation is compounded by Mrs. Poole's relentless help. Meanwhile, David takes a sucker punch from his tutor's ex-boy friend Eric.

Note: This episode has a different end-credit sequence than the others, which even includes a scene from the "Caught on a Hot Tin Roof" episode with Valerie Harper and Jason Bateman dancing.

  • When did Pax play the theme song that titled Valerie all of mine are titled The Hogan Family.

  • The Valerie title aired for episode #24 "Bad Timing", along with the original parental advisory at the very beginning. I remember 10 years ago when it aired, I just about passed out when I saw that title come on the screen... I'd always wondered what it looked like... Course Ed could've helped me with it, but I wouldn't have known him for 9 years at that time. :-)

  • was there some epiode wear one of the kids developeda crush on valerie ithnk it was mark

  • A crush on their mom?

Ummm... that is disturbing in so many ways.

  • I think you're thinking of Valerie's client that develops a crush on her- and that is 19. Small Packages... Edster's posted that one.

  • "You buckle up for safety now, you hear?".

I wish Valerie hadn't died in a car accident. The many references to cars and potential accidents spoil the show in a way. Without meaning to, I pick up on it.

I love how even Val was getting annoyed with ultra anal-retentive Mark with his "rule" about watching movie credits. What's funny is that *sometimes* I do the same thing myself. How sad is that?

Then again, I don't mind being like Jeremy Licht or the character he plays... sigh...

  • The thing I noticed is that Mrs Poole has a much thicker southern drawl and is a lot more maternal during season 2. Come season 3, she's still domestic, but becomes more wacky. (Insert your comment about how everything became more wacky and less realistic after VH left here. :-P)

  • The words in the theme song, "there's a love that starts by letting go" get me every time in light of what they did to Valerie (the actress and character).

  • I love this show and hate what happened to Valerie Harper. It just wasn't the same without her.

  • Its too sad that writers of the show did not use Ani and Mrs. Poole quite often, together. Ani, Mrs. Poole and Valerie may have had great story lines written, based on their character. Still the show rocks...!!!

  • hav =how

  • I think jason bateman looks like drake bell of nick

  • mrs. poole is the classic neighbour who sure knows hav to change the mood

  • I think the show was always realistic. I mean they had those episodes where youre like "Yeah right" but so did the Val years. Plus its a 80's comedy.Tell me one miller/boyett show that was always realistic?

  • I think the girl who plays Jessica (Deborah Levin) looks just like Ashley Tisdale!
