Anneke does have a great voice, really BUT Do Not forget that this song is a doom Track and no ones vocals fits better on it than Bart 's!!! A Doom song with out the growling vocals misses half of it's beauty i believe...

Its sounds still goed with Anneke but would sound amazing with Bart!

@19Coyote78 Lol I feel like an idiot, because I focused so much on her singing and the first two times she sings "always..." sound almost identical. I did not look at her shirt !! There is a difference between the shirt in this video and the one I linked. Sorry for a misleading comment. However, even though I feel a bit stupid, I am still amazed by how her perfect singing in BOTH lives fooled me in to thinking its the same live. Thats Anneke van Giersbergen's singing for ya :D

@19Coyote78: busca cualquier entrevista de ellos y verás claro que ellos nunca quisieron realmente dedicarse al metal, sino que era el estilo que imperaba en su ciudad en aquel entonces y por eso fueron por ese camino en sus inicios, pero está bien claro que su estilo actual es el que quieren hacer. Si no te gusta, siempre te quedan las grabaciones antiguas, pero no hay necesidad de menospreciar sus nuevos trabajos. ;)

@19Coyote78 Home y Souvenirs son una joya otra cosa es que a ti no te gusten. Yo prefiero por lo general sus canciones más metal pero todos sus albums son buenísimos.

Es cierto que para los que estamos más acostumbradas a su etapa metal se nos hacen raras ciertas canciones... pero es custion de ampliar horizontes; toda la musica experimental de the gathering es una pasada; Broken glass, Alone, Waking hour etc... yo prefiero Saturnine o Strange machines, pero las nuevas son igual de buenas.

The gathering hasta souvenirs es exelente y experimenta en cuanto a una busqueda propia del sonido, pero de alli en adelante del disco souvenirs del 2003 no han logrado discos exelente solo algunos temas son rescatables de los albumens siguientes al 2003 cosa que hasta antes de esa fecha era muy distinto, la mayoria de los temas de los discos era piezas maestras y bellas, elixires auditivos.... Sinceramente the gathering tubo su mejor momento en esa fecha 2000-2003

@19Coyote78 Que Anneke hizo que dejaran el metal??? de donde sacas eso, eso lo quiso la banda misma y no fue por Anneke si hubiera entrado otro u otra igual hubierans seguido por el camino progresivo y para mi resulta imposible que cambien de estilo asi pongan a Angela Gossow en vocales, ellos estan iendo para otras cosas, no van a retroceder nuevamente a lo que hacían antes, ya han madurado bastante para hacer eso.

lo que dices es cierto, pero bart solo colaboró con 2 temas que posteriormente fueron incluidos en almost a dance.

Tengo una entrevista grabada donde frank dice literalmente "we didn´t want the grunt voice for that album". Si quieres te la puedo enviar.

Por otro lado, tu tienes el downfall que editaron el año 2008?? ese doble que dices... aun no logro encontrarlo por ninguna parte, solo aparece el "early years" que editaron el 2001.

muy equivocado amigo , gathering saco un album en donde bart smith canta las rolas del " almost a dance " ese albun se llama "downfall" y son 2 discos con 28 canciones.
